Ebert has a list of great movies that is pretty good. Though he liked the terrible Waking Life, his judgment is usually pretty sharp. He is the man, after all, who wrote Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.

The links here will take you to Netflix, which is our choice for DVD rentals--you pay a monthly fee and get to keep (depending on the rate) three movies out at a time, no late fees, and you can maintain a list of movies you want to see in a queue. Pretty cool service.
