Old Navy Torpedo Joe's

I know this is absurd, but Old Navy's flagship store has a sub-shop with really cheap, good meatball subs. Go check it out when you're around 4th St. and Market. (That's right around the Metreon and Yerba Buena and the Virgin Megastore.)

Le Central

The signature main dish is cassoulet, a hefty crock of white beans studded with pork sausage, duck confit and more. Their's has been going strong for an absurd number of days (that's good). Sometimes the crowd is a little fussy (Burberry wearing), but that shouldn't get in your way of good food and people watching.

This is where wait-staff go after they get off. Good food and they stay open late.

Farallon

Best seafood I've ever had, but the worst service ever, too. Very expensive, with a fun, outlandish interior (a tribute to the sea).
